New appointments strengthen the Foundation’s leadership as it advances Elie and Marion Wiesel’s legacy for a new generation

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Elie Wiesel Foundation today announced the appointment of Sheara Fredman and Elias Davis to its Board of Directors, adding two accomplished business leaders whose experience, leadership and commitment to making a positive impact will help guide the Foundation into its next chapter.
Fredman is a longtime senior leader at Goldman Sachs, where she serves as Chief Accounting Officer and Controller. She joined the firm in 2002 and was named Managing Director in 2008 and Partner in 2012. Throughout her career, she has held significant leadership responsibilities across the firm while demonstrating a longstanding commitment to community, education and Jewish life.

“It was a privilege to serve for many years with Sheara as my fellow partner at Goldman Sachs,” said Elisha Wiesel, Chairman of the Board of The Elie Wiesel Foundation and son of Elie and Marion Wiesel. “Her moral strength and incredible work ethic mark her as one of the most impactful business leaders I know. Davis, currently an executive at Palantir, is an accomplished investor and business leader. His appointment brings an entrepreneurial and commercial perspective to the Foundation as it works to broaden its reach and translate Elie Wiesel’s teachings into action for a new generation.

The appointments come as The Elie Wiesel Foundation continues to expand its work promoting human rights, moral leadership, education and cross-cultural understanding while confronting injustice and antisemitism.

Their appointments are part of a broader strengthening of the Foundation’s leadership as it invests in its next chapter. They join more recent Board additions Lisa Opoku and Tami Rosen, alongside longtime directors Marc Winkelman, Dov Seidman and Bruno Cohen. Seidman and Cohen were appointed to the Board by Marion and Elisha Wiesel and, together with Winkelman, who was appointed to the board by Elie Wiesel, have helped steward the Foundation’s mission over many years.

Together, the Board brings continuity, new perspectives and deep experience across business, technology, culture and philanthropy, all in service of preserving Elie and Marion Wiesel’s legacy while ensuring that their values and teachings remain a living force in the world today.
